The Chalet and The Owlery – two lovely secluded self-catering properties set in a large landscaped woodland garden. Relax and explore this beautiful part of the world, and enjoy watching the wonderful bird life, pine martens, red squirrels and badgers on your doorstep, as well as roe deer and the occasional red deer grazing in the garden.
Located in secluded grounds in the picturesque village of Salen, on the shores of Loch Sunart, The Chalet and The Owlery are ideally located for exploring the beautiful rocky coastline, the sandy beaches of the peninsula, hill and forestry walks and our wonderful wildlife; they provide the perfect base in which to relax and enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of Ardnamurchan.
The Chalet sleeps four, and The Owlery sleeps two; both properties are fully equipped to a high standard and offer all the comforts for enjoying a relaxing and cosy stay at any time of the year.
As well as daily visits from the pine martens, Hillside is home to a wide range of wildlife and birdlife, but venture further afield into Ardnamurchan and it’s possible to see otters, porpoise, whales, basking sharks, eagles, osprey and hen harriers, to name but a few – an absolute haven for any photographer and wildlife enthusiast.
The shores of Loch Sunart are a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest, and the ancient Sunart Oakwoods around Salen are home to a wide range of flora, fauna and insect life. As well as the spectacular scenery before you at every turn, there are also many sites of geological and historic interest to be explored throughout the area.
