The Strontian Distillery

Information

We are Graeme & Vicki, a husband & wife team, proud to have produced and to offer four new Scottish Gins; all inspired by the four Natural Elements, whilst each celebrating a unique aspect of Strontian.

Two of our four gins recently became award-winners in The Gin Cooperative Awards.
The gins are:

Ariundle (43%) represents the Earth element and celebrates Strontian's temperate Rainforest. This gin is citrusy, crisp and pure, with wood sorrel, lemongrass, lime leaf and oak bark.

Floating Kirk (43%) represents the Water element and tells the story of Scotland's first ever floating church which anchored in Strontian back in 1846. This gin features aniseed, black pepper and sugar kelp seaweed, and recently took Bronze place as London Dry Scottish Gin of 2025 with the Gin Cooperative awards.

Nose of The Fairy Hill (43%) represents the Air element and celebrates the original Gaelic translation of 'Strontian': Sron An T-Sithein (Nose of The Fairy Hill) as well as the abundant folklore in the area. This gin is light and floral with lavender, raspberries and hazelnut. Nose of The Fairy Hill won Gold as London Dry Scottish Gin, and Silver as Scottish Gin of The Year in The Gin Cooperative Awards 2025.

Sr 38 (45%) is our Fire gin and shares the story of the discovery of Strontianite in Strontian back in 1790. The name of this gin is inspired by the Periodic Table where the element, Strontium (Sr38) is the only element to be named after anywhere in the UK (Strontian). This gin is warm and spicey with ginger, nutmeg and cloves.

We are also able to offer private gin-tastings, tours of the inspiration sites, and gin cocktail tasting sessions! Please email us on hello@thestrontiandistillery.co.uk to find out more.

The four gins are available to buy in most local bars, restaurants, shops and hotels.
