At Otterburn Bed & Breakfast, we extend the warmest of welcomes to all those seeking to escape the pressures of everyday life and to immerse themselves in the tranquillity of the local landscape.
Located just 45 minutes' drive from Fort William, we have three beautiful ground floor en-suite double bedrooms that accommodate a total of six people at one time; 'Otter' is our premier room with amazing views over Loch Sunart, a large bathroom and luxurious new super king-size bed which can be transformed into two single beds on request. ‘Stag' room has a very comfortable king-size bed and spacious shower. It overlooks the garden. Brand new for 2023, ‘Pine Marten’ room with double bed and cosy modern en-suite provides comfort of a particularly high standard with outstanding views across the loch.
A separate dining room/guest lounge invites relaxation with a tremendous view and the possibility of spotting the otter, which gave the property its name, along with oystercatchers, curlews, herons, seals or porpoise from your breakfast table.
We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and the many choices we offer to ensure all your needs are not only met but surpassed, along with invaluable local advice we can give to make sure you get the most out of your stay, whatever your interests.
Otterburn's position at the edge of the village of Strontian provides a peaceful location, while local amenities and a variety of excellent dining opportunities are near at hand. Our central location is perfect for exploring the whole of the West Highland Peninsulas and you can also enjoy guided kayak, canoe, mountain biking or walking trips with Otter Adventures from our very own doorstep! You’ll benefit from a 5% discount on their shorter trips and the option of an exclusive evening kayak or canoe tour available only to our guests.
For breakfast, as well as fresh fruit and cereals, we offer a choice of continental, full cooked breakfast or daily specials such as blueberry pancakes, bursting with flavour, or Eggs Benedict. All food is cooked to order so no need to make your mind up the night before!
In your room is a generous welcome tray with a wide selection of hot beverage choices and sweet treats to tempt you.
We can set you up for a day of exploring with a hearty packed lunch and, for those who prefer to dine in after a busy day, a simple but delicious homemade evening meal can also be freshly prepared for you (available any night November-March and for stays of five nights or more April-October). Please note, advance notice is required for evening meals or packed lunches as we are a small B&B and can only prepare to order.
Our departing guests regularly tell us that they wish they have could stayed for longer so, during high season, we only offer bookings of two nights or more. However, one-night bookings may become available at short notice over the summer.
Throughout the year, we offer discounts for multiple night bookings as we like to pass on the savings made through less cleaning and laundering to our guests.
